Our very own Fallout Girl reviews the new Star Trek movie – Star Trek: Into Darkness
Introducing Survival Cinema! Fallout Girl will be reviewing movies for their survival content so we can try to glean some tips, tricks, and strategies on how to survive natural and man-made disasters.
The first film she reviews is the new Star Trek movie. Certainly many instances of surviving and doing what is needed to stay alive. The film is jamb-packed with life-and-death scenarios and plenty of edge-of-your-seat action.
The movie mirrors some themes from the 2nd installment of the original movie series, that being Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan. The idea of “the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few…or the one” is brought up again between Kirk and Spock, although the situation is reversed in this new movie. As survivalists we can apply this to the group we are helping to protect (our family) and how we can individually do something to help the whole group, as opposed to just helping ourselves.
A great film worth seeing and it shows how we need to be prepared for the unknown – watch and enjoy!
